SCHEDULE CHANGE BEGINNING OCT. 5TH

As many of you know, there has been quite a bit of discussion about the revised worship schedule once we move into the new sanctuary on October 5th. After much prayer and consideration, the church leadership has arrived at the following schedule for Sunday mornings.

  • 9AM - Contemporary Worship & Sunday School
  • 10:15AM - Traditional Worship & Sunday School
  • 11:30AM - Traditional Worship

With this new schedule, Ethan and I feel that we can best meet the needs of both our class and the church by meeting at the 9AM hour. Not only will this minimize the disruption within our class (both in change of membership & leadership), but this will provide a Bible study option for our age bracket during both Sunday School hours.

In regards to growth, although we can seem “small” on a weekly basis, we now have over 30 members on our roll and are one of the fastest growing classes in the church. We will continue to outreach to visitors in both the 10:15 and 11:30 traditional services, but feel this is an opportunity to reach inward and nurture the existing members of our class, both in faith and fellowship.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the new schedule, please drop us an email or give us a call. We’d love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions you might have.

Thanks, and we’re looking forward to the changes ahead!

Melissa & Ethan

Announcements and Lesson

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Hi guys,

No big announcements this week, but wanted to send a reminder of our July social calendar. Since we finally have study guides for our lesson, I’m not going to scan it, but I have typed up the synopsis and key verses below. Hope everyone has a fantastic week!

July Events:

  • July 14 - Cross Connection, 6pm
  • July 20 - Lunch after church
  • July 25 - Social at home of Doug & Mary Lynn Smith

July 13th Lesson: What Will the Antichrist do?

Focal Passages: Revelation 13:1-10; 16-18

Background Passages: Revelation 13:1-14:13

Session Overview: Pop culture has greatly influenced our understanding of the end times. People are concerned about being “Left Behind,” they consider the possibility of an “Apocalypse Now,” and the name Damien is not as popular as it once was. There is perhaps no figure surrounded with more mystery or apprehension than the Antichrist, a shadowy world leader who, according to pop culture, is far too evil for heaven and maybe even so bad that hell doesn’t want him. People read through the following passages of Revelation with dread and morbid curiosity. The time is now to find out what the Bible really says so we can live confidently now - and when the time comes to move into the days that Revelation predicts.
